Celebrating the New Year~2009!

For New Year's Eve, we went up to Omaha with Grammy and Gramps...we had a wonderful, yet cozy dinner at Old Chicago after a LONG wait and then watched the fireworks downtown...cold but awesome! So glad we were able to have this one last special time with you Grammy and Gramps! And thanks to Gramps for a couple of the great fireworks pics!! :)

New Year's Day found us hanging out at home. Mommy made 2009 french toast and we tested out a couple of our new Christmas toys...the wagon and the tunnels!

Christmas 2008: Part One

We had a wonderful Christmas and got to visit with lots of our family. So, of course we have lots of pics we want to share! This slideshow includes one of our visits with Gramma, Grampa, Uncles Matt and Mark; making sugar cookies with Grammy; leaving cookies for Santa; and Christmas morning. So, here's part one! Enjoy!

The Arrival of Our First Special Guests

The first of our guests to arrive this Christmas were Grammy and Gramps...they spent about a week here before the Howdens arrived! Here are a few pics from our visit with them. Some pics that Mommy is sad to have missed include Dax making snow angels and following animal tracks in the snow with Gramps when she was at Ian's 1-year appt. She *thinks* Grammy and Gramps have pics on their camera of us at Chuck E. Cheese while Mom and Dad celebrated Mom's 30th b-day in Omaha. Thanks for all the fun Grammy and Gramps! We miss you..."and by the way we've been meaning to say, we think you're wonderful too". :)

My 1st Birthday Party!!

It was frigid outside, but it was a gorgeous 75 degrees and humid in our house on December 21!! We had an awesome pool party indoors to celebrate my 1st birthday!!! We all had lots of fun and yummy food...we even grilled! Thanks to everyone who made it so special for me! Hugs and Kisses~Ian

The Twelve Days of Christmas!

Our Great Aunt Nancy sent us a super awesome package this year. The coolest part about it was that it came a couple weeks early...do you know why? We each got to open a gift every day for 12 days! We now have a great stash of new art supplies...she found some really fun stuff!!! Mommy took pics everyday but that would be A LOT of pics to share, so here are some of the highlights. Thanks again Aunt Nancy! We loved opening all the gifts and now we love using everything!! Lots of Love ~Dax and Ian

Once Upon a Village

Three of the churches in Lincoln put on "Christmas on 84th Street" each year and "Once Upon a Village" is a part of it. This is the first year we went and it was awesome! We got to walk through Bethlehem and meet the people that lived and worked there as they waited for Jesus to be born. At the end, we saw Mary and Joseph with Baby Jesus in the stable. We've read the story with Mommy and Daddy but to be a part of it was really neat!

Sampling my first fig

Saying 'hi' to a donkey

This shepherd thought I was sweet

Watching some citizens at work

This Roman Soldier took my coins, but when he saw my face, he couldn't help but give them back to me

No room in the Inn

Seeing Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus:
When we walked into the stable, it was very quiet but I knew where we were, so I broke the silence and quietly said, "I love you, Oh Lord!"
